Volkswagen launches 238mpg 1-liter Car
Not now. But soon! Volkwagen prepares for launching the 238mpg 1-liter Car.
So, what’s so new about this news? Well, it seems that the Volkwagen boarding launched a secret plan for starting building this car in 2010. Their only problem till now was the price. Now they managed to drop the price. But about the price we’ll tell you later in the article.
The 238mpg 1 liter Car has a range of 404 miles which means over 650 kilometers with just 6.5 liter of fuel. Isn’t this amazing? Yes it is. Just think that for a journey around the Earth the car will need just 63 refuel times.
The car has 299 cc and a 8.4 hp diesel engine. Like a medium performance kart. But solving the “238mpg” problem doesn’t consist just in the engine. The car has an incredible aerodynamic shape and no rear mirrors (there are video cameras instead). The weight is around 300 kilograms which reduces the consume of fuel very much.
The passenger shall not have a very comfortable journey because its position is behind the driver’s seat, but he can feel safe because the car is equipped with ABS/ESP and airbag for the driver. Also, the car has LED headlights and taillights which makes the car’s aspect more natural. The AC will be only optional. I don’t want to know how it will smell in that car at the maximum speed, with two persons inside and with the sun shining bright outside.
The price announced is somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 Euros. It’s a little bit expensive but when buying a car like this you must think about the benefits to the nature and not about the money you will save.
Hahaha that thing is sooo uglyyy. Although for 238 mpg I would definitely drive one of those around. Especially seeing as how expensive gas prices are these days.
238 mpg? Just wondering when those VW came out! Just imagine if the car is launched on 2012. Assume that the price of gas is about $7 = LOL. This car would be boom in the auto market. However, don’t like it’s look like, why they are not design this car as a common and not like an UFO car.
Wow, this car gets wayyy better mileage than even the Prius. Although the Prius is a beauty when compared with this uber efficient VW. It is very odd looking!
