Lamborghini Reventon vs. Tornado Jet Fighter drag

The idea about a drag between a car and a plane is not new. Via DragsterWorld Forum, we find that there were some attempts of dragging between cars and planes (Gille Villeneuve vs an F4 Phantom in the 80’s, Michael Schumacher vs an F18, Micheal Schumacher vs a Eurofighter).

Now, the evolution of technology can bring us another challenge. A drag between a street car and a Jet Plane. It is true that Lamborghini Reventon is not an usual street car that you see everyday, but is not an F1 car either.

The dragging distance was 3000m (1.86 miles). Although the Lamborghini Reventon had a great start and took the lead, the Tornado Jet Fighter made up for the lost time and won the drag in the end of the race when it took off and flew over the Lamborghini.

I’ll have to say that Lamborghini Reventon’s price is 1 million dollars plus taxes and there are just 20 cars world wide. All of them are already sold.

The fighter pilot and the Lamborghini test driver challenged each other on a 3km-long (approx 1.9 miles) runway. Although the 650 Hp strong Reventon managed to take the lead in the first leg of the race, the Tornado caught up in the last few feet, taking off and flying over Lamborghini’s $1.5 million supercar that was going at a speed of over 340 km/h -212 mph.
