I really wanted to see a list with things not supported by iPhone and now we finally have one. For a 600 $ phone this looks really bad
And here is the list of things you won’t get when buying an iPhone:
- Advanced Testing
- Terminal and SSH
- Java and Flash
- Voice Dialing
- Open SDK
- Windows Media Video
- Cut and Paste
- Office Applications
- A decent Camera
- iChat
- Custom Ringtones
- AirPort iTunes
- Media Disinterest
- Manic Miner
- Outlook
I wonder what other things you don’t get with the new iPhone . So if you have any ideas leave a comment and i will update the list.

1. What?
2. jailbreak and you get both terminal and ssh. You can also get VNC. Yes, apple is closing loopholes, but they ARE available.
3. Agreed. At least for now they’re not available. Come Feb with the SDK, that might change.
4. Voice dialing is available with jailbreak apps.
5. SDK? It’s going to be available in Feb.
6. Who cares.
7. C&P is lacking. So I’d have to agree on this one.
8. Office apps are available via google’s online 2.0 stuff. It can also read stuff like .doc files in email attachments.
9. The camera is amazing for a phone. 2 MP and the pics are really sharp. It’s lacking on low light situations, but in daytime it’s not lacking at all.
10. Chat client is available with jailbreak. Check out apollo.
11. Custom ringtones? Apple lets you make them from the song library, and there’s a few aftermarket apps that can be used (without jailbreak) that let you create your own.
12 – 15. these are all stupid.
The thing with the camera :
iPhone camera :
2 MP, 1600×1200 pixels
Sony Ericsson K850 :
5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus, video(QVGA@30fps), xenon flash and 3LED video light; auto lens cover, secondary videocall camera
I tested both phones and the Sony Ericsson has a much better camera
