It is equipped with medical emergency equipment and high speed survelliance devices. It has a refrigerated cabinet in the hood for transporting donor organs and a defibrillator on-board. So, the policemen have to know some medical studies. There are 30 police officers (including 3 women) that have been trained for using the medical equipment.

But this car is not just an ambulance. It has attached in the front a live video camera connected to the station that surveillance the traffic and the speed of the cars. This camera is connected with a GPS device. Both of them, working together, make everything much more easier. The camera broadcasts live the chasing and transmits all the data (location, speed, direction, license plate number) to the police station using radio data transmission. This way, the details about the pursued car are already found out.

Now, this is the most powerful police car at the moment!

So, what’s so new about this news? Well, it seems that the Volkwagen boarding launched a secret plan for starting building this car in 2010. Their only problem till now was the price. Now they managed to drop the price. But about the price we’ll tell you later in the article.

The 238mpg 1 liter Car has a range of 404 miles which means over 650 kilometers with just 6.5 liter of fuel. Isn’t this amazing? Yes it is. Just think that for a journey around the Earth the car will need just 63 refuel times.

The car has 299 cc and a 8.4 hp diesel engine. Like a medium performance kart. But solving the “238mpg” problem doesn’t consist just in the engine. The car has an incredible aerodynamic shape and no rear mirrors (there are video cameras instead). The weight is around 300 kilograms which reduces the consume of fuel very much.

The passenger shall not have a very comfortable journey because its position is behind the driver’s seat, but he can feel safe because the car is equipped with ABS/ESP and airbag for the driver. Also, the car has LED headlights and taillights which makes the car’s aspect more natural. The AC will be only optional. I don’t want to know how it will smell in that car at the maximum speed, with two persons inside and with the sun shining bright outside.

The price announced is somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 Euros. It’s a little bit expensive but when buying a car like this you must think about the benefits to the nature and not about the money you will save.

It was time that car producers started thinking about the environment and the future of the earth . I think this is the greatest news of the year . After the “water” engine from BMW, Mercedes announces that they are planing to be completely fuel free in 2015 … only 7 years this is great .

Till today the company spent £2million on this project and planing to pay another £7billion before 2014 .

For the start they are planing to get the existing engine models to be cleaner and more fuel-efficient (the Blue Efficiency A-Class 160 and C-Class models should reduce fuel consumption by 12 per cent) .

It seems that Mercedes already has completely electric cars out there for testing and we will have the first cars on the market in 2010 .

The first 2008 Auto show (Detroit Auto Show) is on the way but this is the first thing that i find interesting : Blue Lamborghini I always loved black and red as car colors but i think that the blue is interesting too .

This blue color is called “Blu Cepheus” and comes with the Lamborghini personalization program. Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini’s president and CEO says that this blue color is “inspired by the purity and transparency of polar ice ” and that the color is |one of the most glamorous shades in fashion today .”

Another interesting thing stated by Stephan Winkelmann was “Lamborghini is strongly focusing on the Ad Personam personalization program due to the importance of offering customers the widest range of possibilities for individualizing their cars”. I really love companies that offer the chance of really making a car “YOURS”.

Now, the evolution of technology can bring us another challenge. A drag between a street car and a Jet Plane. It is true that Lamborghini Reventon is not an usual street car that you see everyday, but is not an F1 car either.

The dragging distance was 3000m (1.86 miles). Although the Lamborghini Reventon had a great start and took the lead, the Tornado Jet Fighter made up for the lost time and won the drag in the end of the race when it took off and flew over the Lamborghini.

I’ll have to say that Lamborghini Reventon’s price is 1 million dollars plus taxes and there are just 20 cars world wide. All of them are already sold.

In 1957 Porsche produced one of the most famous cars in racing history – the Porsche 718 model. It was based on the successful Porsche 550 version from earlier in the 1950’s, except it provided a sum of improvements – a more aerodynamic hull combined with a few more horsepower – which proved to be the essence of success. Just one year after entering the motor-sport competition, it won the at the 1960 12 Hours of Sebring, while in 1961 it was taken to a class win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Time has passed, and the model became a legend. That’s why Porsche announced to release a limited edition of a Boxter RS 60 Spyder, and to be exact only 1960 of them, as a homage to the year in which it brought it’s first cup. The Boxter S version will show no resemblance to this horsepower beast, since the latter will be featuring great aerodynamic improvements to match the 1960 mid-engine two-seater version. The chrome door knob, the steering wheel, and the overall interior design will give the Boxter RS 60 Spyder the feel of a racecar, build entirely to match the now classic red leather interior of the historic Spyder.

The new 2008 Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder will have its North American debut at the New York Auto Show on March 19, 2008, with the MSRP of $81,900 £45,400 including VAT in the UK, and approximately 53,000 Euros for the European market. Packing the announced 303 hp engine, and the metallic GT chrome on the outside, it’s expected to be sold before it’s even displayed.

I don’t know if the launch of Need for speed Pro street has something to do with this but it might . Jason Heffner of Heffner’s Performance have modified a Ford Gt for a drag race (Goliad Industrial Air Park during the bi-annual Texas Mile event) . As always these guys mean business and the car looks and works great .

Heffner’s shop is in Sarasota, Florida, but he began his career in 1994 working as a wrench at a Dodge dealership in Laurel, Maryland. Heffner spent his free time tearing up local drag strips in a 1990 Mustang.

Brabus succeeds in gaining another victorious speed record with the Maybach 57 SV12 S Biturbo. This speed record is 330.6 km/h (205.2 mph) and has been reached on Italy’s Nardo test track this week. The engine is a 730-hp (720 hp SAE net) / 537-kW BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine. With this successful world speed record, Maybach 57 receives the title of the Fastest and Most Exclusive Luxury Sedan.

A world-record speed of 330.6 km/h (205.2 mph) set on the high-speed test track in Nardo, Italy; BRABUS added to its extensive collection of automotive records with a Maybach 57 powered by a 730-hp (720 hp SAE net) / 537-kW BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine. It is the world’s fastest and most exclusive ultra-luxury sedan. The BRABUS engineers and test drivers bested their own record set in 2005 when a Maybach 57 powered by a BRABUS SV12 Biturbo engine with 640 hp (631 hp SAE net) / 471 kW was clocked at 314 km/h (195 mph).

The SV12 S Biturbo evolution of the 6.3-liter displacement engine was originally developed for the BRABUS ROCKET, the four-door car based on the Mercedes CLS series. In October of 2006 it set a speed record for street-legal sedans of 365.7 km/h (227.2 mph), a record that still stands today.

For power increase of the turbocharged Maybach 12-cylinder engine from standard 550 hp (543 hp SAE net) / 405 kW to 730 hp (720 hp SAE net) / 537 kW BRABUS followed its tradition of increasing engine displacement. The BRABUS engineers developed a special crankshaft with longer stroke, precision-balanced piston rods and larger pistons to account for the increased cylinder bore. Displacement grows from standard 5.5 to 6.3 liters (335 to 385 cu. in.).

The inner workings of the engine are modified with precision-machined cylinder heads and special camshafts. The engine peripherals are tuned for more power with the help of a high-performance turbocharging system with special manifolds, two larger turbochargers, more efficient intercoolers, and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts.

Custom-programmed engine electronics coordinate the perfect interaction of all high-performance components and ensure that the engine meets stringent EURO IV emission limits. The standard 250-km/h (155 mph) speed limit is also eliminated. The peak torque of 1,320 Nm (974 lb-ft) is limited by the engine electronics to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft).

The enormous power of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo engine is transferred to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic transmission. For the lubrication of the entire drivetrain BRABUS relies exclusively on ARAL high-performance lubricants.

The top speed of 330.2 km/h (205.2 mph) places enormous demands on tires and wheels. The BRABUS suspension engineers developed forged 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock VI light-alloy wheels specifically for the Maybach. The fully polished multi-piece wheels with six double spokes perfectly fill the space beneath the wheel arches. They are mounted in size 9.0Jx21 in front with size 275/40 R 21 tires, and in size 10.5Jx21 with size 315/35 R 21 tires on the rear axle.

For further increased driving safety the BRABUS air-suspension module lowers the ride height by some 15 millimeters (0.6 inches) without compromising the unique ride comfort.

BRABUS refines the elegant lines of Maybach not just with a lowered ride height and with large wheels. The front of the sedan can be upgraded with two auxiliary headlights that serve as daytime running lights. They are stylishly integrated into the production front apron.

Exclusive BRABUS light design is also available for the sides and the rear of the Maybach: LED lights integrated into the body that illuminate the ground beside and behind the luxury sedan can be activated via the keyless fob. They help avoid unfortunate missteps into potholes or puddles in the dark. The rear of the Maybach is further upgraded with the ultra-flat tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust system.

BRABUS also offers exclusive custom-tailored interiors and state-of-the-art multimedia technology for all Maybach models. Owners of the luxury sedan can choose from the finest leathers and Alcantara in any desired color and design.

Special loving attention to detail is present in the waffle-patterned leather carpeting that alone uses several kilometers of the finest thread, sewn with utmost precision. Custom-tailored BRABUS lambs wool floor mats caress the occupants’ feet.

The BRABUS development team also created additional interesting features for the standard entertainment system of the Maybach. The 16:9 flat screens integrated into the back of the front seats measure 15.2 inches in the BRABUS version (standard: 9 inches). At the push of a button the Maybach transforms into a luxurious office on wheels: The screens the display the computer’s user interface. BRABUS uses a special computer designed for use in a car that is connected to the internet via UMTS. A USB 2.0 port, stylishly integrated into the center console, allows connecting external electronic equipment such as printer or a digital camera.

To remain online even when outside the vehicle the BRABUS communications specialists have integrated a high-tech notebook computer in an electrically operated drawer in the trunk. This computer is connected to the computer network of the vehicle via W-LAN.
