“HiFi Arena Hi-Feelings” happened these days in Bucharest. This was the sixth edition and gathered the leading providers of audio and video HiFi solutions. It was such a nice experience for me to visit each producer room where they have shown their best products.

The big names of the exhibition were: Bang & Olufsen, Bose, Sony Overseas, Yamaha and Audiotehnic. I tried many products and all of them were incredible.

World’s largest HDD, maybe Hitachi

I’ve never known which is the largest HDD in the world. In stores they had one but after researching a little bit I’ve found that another one is larger.

Now, I have the largest size. 5TB. Yes, you read correctly. 5 (five) Terra Bytes will have the HDD that would be produced by Hitachi in 2010. They say that they managed to create a technology that makes possible more that 1 TB per inch. This technology is called CPP-GMR (Current Perpendicular to the Plane Giant Magnetoresistance) and will allow more that 5 TB per 3.5inch Hard Drive.

Isn’t that incredibble? Now, I currenly have a 500GB HDD. And I have 4 partitions. How will I manage to partionate a 5TB Hard Disk? What to do with so much free space?

Via electronista, we find out that 10 TB is the amount of memory that a human brain can “storage”. I found that interesting.

New Cameras in the W-Series from Sony

Sony have decided to launch 5 new models from the W Series . The series is well known for their small size and clean lines. I never liked small cameras but for a compact camera i find the W-Series to be great cameras. The top camera in the W Series is the W170 a 10.1-megapixel camera with a wide angle Carl Zeiss lens and a 5x optical zoom . The w170 has a 2.7-inch Photo LCD that offers 230k resolution.

The cameras come with Smile Shutter, Face Detection and Super Steady Shot optical image stabilization for clearer low-light shooting .

Prices
Sony W170 – $300
Sony W150 – $230
Sony W120 – $200

W120 that will be available in Pink, Blue, Black and Silver
W 130 will be out in Pink, Black and Silver (both out in March)
W150/ W170 will be out in Champagne, Red, Black and Silver (both out in April).

New Gamers Screen at CES (Alienware)

You have to love CES . A lot of interesting stuff there … Alienware displayed this screen at CES and I think this is very cool.
The screen has a curved display and it rocks when playing Crysis at a resolution of 2880 x 900 (at least this what say people that tested the screen ).

Technical Specifications state that it has a 0.02-millisecond response time . If this is true this will blow the market.

No prices out yet but i am sure that extreme gamers will try and get theyr hands on this as soon as it hits the shelfs.

Green power for Hard Drives from Western Digital

This is one of the best ideas lately . The people at Western Digital are aiming to reduce power consumption with the new GreenPower hard drives . The power consumption on this hard drives will be reduced with 40% witch i think it is a good step forward . This power consumption reduction will lower the costs of energy with 10$ per year for each hard drive . This is very nice when you have a data center . The hard drives in the GreenPower line will range from 500GB to 1TB storage capacity and will be priced between $149.99 and $349.99.
