World’s largest HDD, maybe Hitachi

I’ve never known which is the largest HDD in the world. In stores they had one but after researching a little bit I’ve found that another one is larger.

Now, I have the largest size. 5TB. Yes, you read correctly. 5 (five) Terra Bytes will have the HDD that would be produced by Hitachi in 2010. They say that they managed to create a technology that makes possible more that 1 TB per inch. This technology is called CPP-GMR (Current Perpendicular to the Plane Giant Magnetoresistance) and will allow more that 5 TB per 3.5inch Hard Drive.

Isn’t that incredibble? Now, I currenly have a 500GB HDD. And I have 4 partitions. How will I manage to partionate a 5TB Hard Disk? What to do with so much free space?

Via electronista, we find out that 10 TB is the amount of memory that a human brain can “storage”. I found that interesting.

Volkswagen launches 238mpg 1-liter Car

Not now. But soon! Volkwagen prepares for launching the 238mpg 1-liter Car. This is not incredible news. The CEO of Volkswagen announced this car 6 years ago in 2002 at the annual meeting in Hamburg.

So, what’s so new about this news? Well, it seems that the Volkwagen boarding launched a secret plan for starting building this car in 2010. Their only problem till now was the price. Now they managed to drop the price. But about the price we’ll tell you later in the article.

The 238mpg 1 liter Car has a range of 404 miles which means over 650 kilometers with just 6.5 liter of fuel. Isn’t this amazing? Yes it is. Just think that for a journey around the Earth the car will need just 63 refuel times.

The car has 299 cc and a 8.4 hp diesel engine. Like a medium performance kart. But solving the “238mpg” problem doesn’t consist just in the engine. The car has an incredible aerodynamic shape and no rear mirrors (there are video cameras instead). The weight is around 300 kilograms which reduces the consume of fuel very much.

The passenger shall not have a very comfortable journey because its position is behind the driver’s seat, but he can feel safe because the car is equipped with ABS/ESP and airbag for the driver. Also, the car has LED headlights and taillights which makes the car’s aspect more natural. The AC will be only optional. I don’t want to know how it will smell in that car at the maximum speed, with two persons inside and with the sun shining bright outside.

The price announced is somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 Euros. It’s a little bit expensive but when buying a car like this you must think about the benefits to the nature and not about the money you will save.

Searching the internet about new interesting ladies to show you, I found Carmella DeCesare. Her beauty made me say: “This is definitely today’s girl!”

Carmella DeCesare’s dream was to become famous. At the age of 19 she was selected for “Who want to be Miss Playboy?”. She didn’t like being surrounded by many cameras and crew members and left the contest. But, after a short period of time, Hugh Hefner invited her for a shooting session and appears in a magazine. Short she becomes the most voted woman in that month.

This was just the beginning. In a short while she becomes “Miss April 2003″ and she is invited to many TV shows like Street Smarts and The Howard Stern Show. But Carmella’s biggest achievement is finished the university.

I have been playing Need For Speed Pro Street for a month and I wanted to do some drifts outside but haven’t had the guts to do so.

Yesterday I received a video with a drift and it seems that people have really started drifting other vehicles than normal drifting cars. They are great an so I started to look for more videos and create this Top. I was very pleased and amused in the same time about this different ways of drifting knowledge.

Drifting started out more than 30 years ago in different driving championships in Japan. Since then, the drifting styles evolved and different wheels vehicles have been used. Now we present you Top 10 Unusual Drifts.

10th place

Drifting training start at early ages. This kid is using its tricycle for drifting.

9th place

When you are at work and you can’t use your car for drifting, you try to use any other wheel vehicle.

8th place

OK. Now you have free time, you have a powerful car but you don’t have enough space. So what?

You are bored and you have just two wheels instead of four? No problem! It’s enough!

Electrolux – Design Lab 2007 competition

I haven’t heard about this competition until today but it looks interesting . Tomorrow the winner will be announced in Paris and will get a prize of 5,000€ . The idea in this years competition was to create a eco-friendly design and sustainable household appliances and solutions for 2020.

In this years final managed to get 8 designs . I find some of them really interesting and useful in the future but some of them are really silly But here they are :

Whos is Karima Adebibe? If you have played Tomb Raider you surely know her face . Karima Abedibe is Lara Croft.

The international face of action hero Lara Croft has today been revealed as an unknown 20 year old model from Bethnal Green, London. Karima Adebibe, is set to be catapulted into the world of superstardom after being cast from thousands of hopefuls in an international search to fill the shoes of one of Hollywoods’ biggest stars.

Karima Adebibe (born February 14, 1985 in London, England) is an English actress and model of Moroccan and of Irish/Greek descent.

Formerly a sales assistant at the clothing store Topshop, she was selected on February 14, 2006 (both her birthday and that of Lara Croft) to be the seventh (and current) model for Lara Croft in the popular video game series Tomb Raider. The role involves promoting the game series “in-character” on television and radio, so Adebibe is undergoing training in Lara Croft’s trademark skills, from martial arts to elocution.

She had previously had a small role as a sacrificial maiden in the 2004 film Alien vs. Predator.

Tallest Building in the world in construction – Mubarak al-Kabir

It seems that people in Kuwait are planning to have another wonder in human history . They are planning to build Burj Mubarak al-Kabir which is going to be the tallest building in the world .

Currently the tallest building in the world is the Taipei 101 located in Taipei Taiwan . This was build in 2004 has 101 stories and a height of 508m / 1,667 feet . Some of the other tall buildings in the world are shown in the following picture :

Now there are 2 projects in the world fighting for the prize of the tallest building in the world. One is the the Burj Dubai which is going to have over 800m and the other one is Mubarak al-Kabir which will stand 1,001 meters (3,284 ft). This will be a $86 billion dollar project that will cover 2 square kilometers and will have a new airport, plus a large business center, conference areas, environmental areas, athletic areas, and areas that concentrate on media, health, education, and industry . Mubarak al-Kabir will take approximately 25 years to complete.
